Linnea Mack, a 14 year
old young lady swimming for Osprey Aquatics, set a new Pacific
Swimming record in the 100 Back on Sunday at the Juanita Allington
Memorial Sr. Meet in Clovis CA. Linnea's winning time of 55.10
broke the old record of 55.24 set by the great Natalie Coughlin in
1996. The swim also qualifies Linnea for senior nationals. Osprey
Aquatics has been a Finis team since their inception in the fall of
1996.
Linnea is coached by
Brian Bolster, who started the program. Linny did an excellent job
putting the different elements of her race plan together. She is
very fast underwater," said Brian. "We combine unassisted
underwater dolphin with the use of several types of fins for her
underwater work in practice; blue zoomers, Z2's and the monofin.
Linny understands the importance of what we're doing, and makes it
count, both in practice and her races. She swam about 47 yards of
that race underwater, and I think that was the difference for
her."
